Finally got to see you play

Hi John, i was at the Open on Thursday. this was the first golf event that i have been to see, all i wanted from the day was to see you Grip it N rip it.
I wasn't disappointed, i didn't care about the weather it was just great to see you play.
Hope that you are going to play more in Europe and i hope to be able to see you play again.
All the best.

Thanks!

John,
I just read GOLF MY OWN DAMN WAY. I thoroughly enjoyed it and wanted you to know that one of your tips really helped me out with a problem. I'm a middle school principal and had a couple of weeks off for the summer and was fired up about having the chance to play a time or two. Unfortunately when I went to the range, I bet I shanked three fourths of the balls in the bucket. Later, after reading your chapter on "Before You Rip It, You Gotta Grip It", I tried what you suggested and lessened my grip pressure. The shanks went away! While I still revert to some default tendencies and still grip too tightly at times, your advice helped me regain my confidence and know with a little more certainty where my ball was heading. I'm also proud to say that my foursome won our district's administrators tournament at the Walker Course at Clemson University. Thanks again and I wish you the very best.

Russian Open

John, just heard you'll be teeing up in the Russian Open this week. Go crush 'em, give 'em you best shot like you always do. Take care of that elbow and wrist.

You may not have finished well in the Open, but so did a lot of other top players. You're still in their league, John. Your time will come. You're working hard and are very determined. Go get 'em.

Your biggest fan (I guess you could say we all are). I really hope to play one of your courses once my cancer stays in remission.

British Open

I'm sorry the British Open was so hard on you. Don't let the critics get to you. You are an inspiration to many of us who still think sports should be fun.

Way to hang in there

JD, I am sure you will get other notes like this and hope you do. I was very proud of the way you fought through the pain and finished the two rounds at The Open Championship. Being a past champion carries a responsibility and to see you (in very obvious pain) finish, it makes me proud to be one of your longtime fans. I will pray for healing for your body and life and look forward to seeing your name amoung the world's best in the future. Rick Shehan, Spartanburg, SC

Byron Nelson

I have never sent a message like this to anyone. My husband was able to get tickets to the 2008 Nelson from Chesapeake Operating.
I was really looking to maybe seeing you in your RV, but I never found you. I really wanted to buy one of your hats and have you sign it. We have really enjoyed your playing when we could see you at the Houston tournament when it was here in the Woodlands. I just saw you in The Open and I am sorry you did not make the cut. I want to encourage you to continue to play no matter what because you are such an inspiration to everyone who may have had some things not go so well in their life. "Keep on Keepin'on" John! I hope I will get to see you in one of the Texas Tournaments next year.

My Favorite

John, you're always my favorite player to watch. I know you've been through a lot of ups and downs but God has given you a great talent and He can bring you through it all - if you ask. I pray for you and hope to see you back at the top of your game in the future or at least at peace, happy and healthy. Take care of yourself and be there for your children. They are your most important legacy.

Tough day

Tough day at the Open. Way to stick it out. Made me feel good about the heat here to see you all bundled up. Sorry it wasn't a better result. Keep swinging.

golf

Hey John, as a golf instructor I tell my students to live their golf experiences with gusto and don't be afraid to go for it.
I tell them to copy John Daly's style and approach to the game....just leave out the smoking. Your career has meant a lot to so many of my kids. To me, it's a painful pleasure to watch you play the game, wish I could caddy for you for one tournament, just to keep you focused on winning....which I know you can do again. Best of luck at the Open.

Pete n Shorty's

John sorry to announce my buddy Timmy who you signed autograph for passed away , he had another stroke at 46 and now again at 50. His wife let me do a reading at the funeral and I told them of your signing of the mini menu from Pete n Shorty's. She gave me the menu and a picture of him and I during the trip to clearwater. I am framing it and will try to email it to you if I find a proper address to do so. It will hang in my bar up here on the mountain in the upper adirondacks in his memory and of your generosity!! Now bounce back over there in the second round brother,, we are cheering for you( and saying cheers) for you!!

GOOD LUCK!!!

Hey John my husband ane I are big fans. Really enjoy watching you in tournaments. They can say what they want as what Tiger has brought to golf, but you seem so personable and down home, and don't seem to have a temperment like Tiger, which usually they don't show. Would really like to see you play more and win more tournaments. Do not like the interviews we've seen on the Golf Channel about you. Do well at Birkdale will be cheering for ya' Take care Big John and God Bless you and yours.
